Less tension, more flow: Your summer Salsa challenge!
A complaint I often hear on the dance floor and in Salsa classes is too much tension in the arms. You’ve probably heard or felt things like: "They’re going to rip my arms off," "Their grip is way too tight," or "Those jerky movements hurt my shoulder." This summer, here is a suggestion: with trusted dance partners, try to execute your patterns with as little arm tension as possible. The goal is to explore the exact amount of energy needed to effectively communicate and understand the latin dance movements . If you find that a move works with only 10% of your usual strength, ask yourself why you were creating so much tension in the first place! By exploring this concept, you will gain: More speed and responsiveness. Greater flexibility in your connection. Better flow throughout the dance. Maximum safety for your joints. Give it a try on the dance floor! 😉
